THE PRINCIPAL'S NEWSLETTER

Staff Appreciation Week

On behalf of the North School staff, I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of you for making our staff appreciation week amazing!  During staff appreciation week, we were treated to a coffee and latte cart, breakfasts, lunches, and tasty snacks and drinks.  We were honored with an extravagant New Orleans themed luncheon in the North Upper Circle.  It was incredible!!  Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make the luncheon so special and thank you to everyone who came out to honor us.  Throughout the week, we received heartfelt messages from the kids, cards of thanks from the families, and gorgeous flowers from local gardens.  I know I speak for the entire staff when I say that we are grateful for your support.  Many parents participated in making this week so very special for us; too many, in fact, to name them all.  Let me instead thank the entire North School parent community for your thoughtfulness and your generosity.  It means a great deal to us!

Open House

I would like to thank everyone for coming to North’s Open House!  It was an amazing night!  The classrooms all displayed high quality work and the students showed it off with such pride.  A big thank you goes out to all of the staff who worked so hard all year preparing for the big night.  The art show in the MPR was truly amazing!  Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped to mount the art and display the art for the show.  Thank you to all of you who attended it and made it a night to remember for everyone.

Field Day

North School will hold its annual field day on Thursday, June 14th from 1:00-2:30pm.  Our PE teacher, Ms. Devine, is working closely with the school staff to create a field day experience that is sure to be fun and memorable.  Please remember to send your child in appropriate PE clothing, hats, and sunscreen on that day.  All Kindergartners will start at 10:00am on that day.

Yearbooks

With the school year coming to a close, it is very important that your accounts are cleared. Yearbooks will not be handed to students who have not returned all library books or paid any lost library book fines.

Lost and Found

Please come by and see if your child’s clothing is in our Lost and Found.  It is pretty full right now.  Anything left on the last day of school will be donated to Samaritan House.

Volunteer Appreciation Tea

The North School staff is VERY appreciative of all of the parents who have made such a huge difference in our school!  We’d like to extend our many thanks to all of you!  We would like to invite those who have been so generous with their time and have volunteered at North this year to attend a Volunteer Tea on Monday, June 4th from 9:45-10:15 in the MPR.  It is our small way of saying, “many thanks” for all that you do.  Hope to see you there!

FROM THE NPG PRESIDENT

This Sunday is the Fun Run - personally my favorite event of the year.  It is true community-building, everyone gets exercise, kids get to be with friends and we raise money for our schools.  You can even sign up the day of the event.  Sunshine is in the forecast and the pancakes are awesome, so please consider coming out and joining the other 600 residents...it's truly a blast!

The last two weeks of school will fly by so enjoy them - whether you have a kindergartner achieving a milestone, a 5th grader moving on to Crocker, or just ending another great year at North - how lucky we are to be here.

Hope to see you Sunday morning!

THANK YOU
